Put-in-Bay Shopping Whether you're looking for kitschy Put-in-Bay gear, fine gifts or just a souvenir to prove you were here, someone on the island sells it. Most shops are downtown. Blue Cottage Gallery The Blue Cottage Gallery is the island's only art gallery. Find artwork in all forms, including stained glass, pottery, oil, photography, watercolor, ceramics, jewelry, metal and glass - all by local and area artists. Looking at the art not enough for you? Every Saturday gives you the chance to meet artists and see them work their magic. You can also attend a class and try it out for yourself. Blue Cottage Gallery also carries the CDs of the local entertainers. The Candy Bar The Candy Bar is the only bar on the island that doesn't sell beer - but it does sell chocolate, which makes it almost as good. or even better than other Put-in-Bay bars. Where else can you buy ¼ lb. per slice homemade fudge, salt water taffy and children's novelty candy? The Candy Bar is also known for dipping in chocolate anything it can get its hands on, like cookies, fresh fruit (ever had a chocolate covered grape or blueberry?) and pretzels. The Cuckoo's Nest Shop at the Cuckoo's Nest and you'll swear you're in Key West instead of Ohio. Everything in the store has a tropical vibe to it, including dinnerware for boats or pools, artwork (the metal palm trees are a favorite), purses and beach bags, collectibles and women's clothing. Bath and body items are also available in this Caribbean-feel shop. The Country House The Country House is a one-stop shop for anyone you're shopping for.
